Singer Gisele Jackson is one of the most important voices in Afro-American music – an artist who began her career on the classic soul scene and rose to prominence when Ray Charles brought her into his band. Donna Summer and James Brown also featured her voice. Born in Baltimore, Giselle Jackson has toured Asia, America, Europe, and Africa, and has sung in the most important clubs in the USA. She has even performed at Hollywood ceremonies and events, such as the inauguration of President Bill Clinton. Billboard magazine described her as a “diva” following the recording of the chart-topping classic Love Commandments. At the Mas i Mas Festival she will perform alongside the Shu Shu’s, an organ trio consisting of the best jazz, blues and funk artists in Spain – a group with a decade of experience and a roster of top-class collaborators, including Ray Gelato and Sharon Jones.
