The musician, originally from Biscay, presents his latest project, Gorka Benitez Spaces, after recording this new repertoire for Fresh Sound Records, with a lineup featuring Moisés Sánchez on piano, Jeff Ballard on drums, and Michael Formanek on double bass. They will premiere this project live at Mas i Mas. With more than 70 recorded albums—10 as a leader—performances at Europe’s most important festivals and clubs, collaborations with artists of the caliber of Randy Brecker, Omara Portuondo, Paco Ibáñez, Chicuelo, Gerardo Núñez, Martirio, Emilio Solla, and Giulia Valle, among others, Gorka Benítez has earned the reputation of being one of the best and most sought-after saxophonists in the national jazz scene. His honesty, expressive ability, and high creativity have captivated both audiences and specialized critics.
