Elsa Armengou is 19 years old and has been part of the Sant Andreu Jazz Band since she was six; thirteen years during which she has had the opportunity to play and record albums with musicians of the caliber of Scott Hamilton, Joe Magnarelli, Dick Oatts, Joel Frahm, John Allred, Terrell Stafford, Wycliffe Gordon, Jesse Davis, and many others. With the Sant Andreu orchestra, she has recorded more than 40 titles. Her progression in recent years has been spectacular and is reflected in her way of playing, her sound, her ability to improvise in a relaxed manner, and with surprising inventiveness. Elsa Armengou has been and continues to be a cornerstone of the Sant Andreu Jazz Band, a reference for all the musicians who currently make up the formation led by Joan Chamorro.
