Composer and double bassist Tempe Hernández leads this contemporary jazz trio with two travelling companions: multi-instrumentalist Sergi Sirvent – a colleague from the trio Unexpected – and drummer Oscar Doménech. Hernández, who comes from Argentina, has been part of the jazz and improvised music scene in Barcelona for years. He trained with Horacio Fumero, Javier Colina and Guillermo Klein, and has played with Gary Bartz, Bruce Barth, Gorka Benitez and Klein himself, among others. Since 2018, he has been leading this group, whose name he borrowed from music theory. Based on the classical jazz piano trio line-up, Hernández and his band combine their own compositions with popular and contemporary melodies and a strong emphasis on improvisation and rhythmic cadence. They are undoubtedly one of the most creative and original line-ups on our jazz scene.
