Valencian guitarist Iago Aguado leads a quartet with an exploratory nature, which he defines as “creative and free,” and with which he seeks, he adds, “new possibilities and uniting genres without fear of breaking the rules.” The music of the Iago Aguado Quartet comprises a series of pieces of its own authorship, straddling contemporary and avant-garde jazz, and with elements of popular music and even musical romanticism. On stage, Aguado and his group manage to forge, almost spontaneously, a brilliant collective discourse, regardless of the individual quality of each of the members who accompany him: the great ‘Pintxo’ Villar, David Mengual and Oriol Rock. The Jamboree will surely play pieces from ‘Festina Lente’ (Underpool, 2019), the magnificent debut album by Iago Aguado, produced by David soler and with collaborations such as Joana Gomila.
