IGNASI TERRAZA TRIO - Jamboree Jazz
IGNASI TERRAZA TRIO

Ignasi Terraza piano, Adrian Cunningham sax and clarinet, Esteve Pi drums.

The great Ignasi Terraza returns to the Jamboree as one third of a trio, as he has on so many other occasions. And no, we have not forgotten to include the double bass player – it is precisely the absence of that instrument that Terraza intends to explore in the company of Adrian Cunningham and Esteve Pi, against the backdrop of historical line-ups like those including Benny Goodman and Teddy Wilson, Lester Young and Nat King Cole, and Bill Pierce and Hank Jones. The Barcelona pianist, one of the best-known European jazzmen, combines his extraordinary technique, exquisite sensitivity and innate swing with the sounds of another jazz great: Adrian Cunningham. Born in Australia, saxophonist Cunningham lives in New York and has enjoyed a career alongside luminaries such as Wycliffe Gordon and Wynton Marsalis. The third vertex of the triangle is the drummer Esteve Pi, a regular in line-ups with Ignasi Terraza and Andrea Motis, among others. A new Ignasi Terraza trio is a great invitation to enjoy a top-notch jazz session – you can be sure of that!
