‘Decisió i coratge’ is the title of The Bop Collective’s third album, an appeal to bite the bullet and act with conviction and firmness; also to believe in one’s own ideals and objectives and to carry them out. ‘Decisió i coratge’ is an album that marks a before and after in the trajectory of The Bop Collective, a selection of eight songs that shows the evolution and musical restlessness of the members of the group, prominent artists in the jazz scene current. The Bop Collective’s aesthetic is the result of a life dedicated to music: saxophonist Irene Reig’s compositions and arrangements pivot between jazz tradition and current music; a bet that, despite maintaining the essence of the melodies rooted in singing, explores harmony and meter in different areas of the world of music.
