Emerging from Copenhagen’s vibrant jazz scene in the late ‘90s, Jakob Dinesen quickly became a cornerstone of a new Danish jazz generation. As a founding member of Once Around the Park and Jakob Bro’s Beautiful Day, Dinesen helped shape the soulful, exploratory Nordic jazz sound of today.
His collaborations span continents and genres—from Paul Motian, Jeff “Tain” Watts, and Kurt Rosenwinkel to Danish rock and pop icons and Gambian kora master Dawda Jobarteh.
Now, Jakob Dinesen teams up with Catalan bassist Xavi Castillo, with whom he shares a profound musical chemistry. Together, they deliver a deeply resonant live experience, rich in nuance, energy, and unexpected dialogue.
