JAMBOREE JAM amb ALBERT MARQUÈS TRIO - Jamboree Jazz

Catalan pianist Albert Marqués currently resides in Brooklyn where he’s been flourishing in the New York jazz scene after a successful stint in Paris. Marqués plays a style of contemporary piano, with a distinctive urban feel. His sound is unique and profoundly percussive, a mix that has lead him to be part of several jazz projects with drummers such as Leon Parker and Ari Hoenig. He has also collaborated with legenday latin jazz composer Arturo O’Farrill and singer/saxophonist Antonio Lizana. As a solo artist he has released such albums as “Live In the South Bronx” (2016), recorded with drummer Zack O’Farrill. Marqués is one of the great jazzmen of the extraordinary yet little known batch of catalan jazz musicians currently performing in New York, the jazz capital of the world. The show at the Jamboree is a unique opportunity to enjoy his talents in his native Cataluña.
