The last jam of the first month of 2020 opens with a performance by a young flautist originally from Panama who has already played in big New York clubs like Smalls, the Zinc Bar and the Mezzrow. As a student at the National Conservatory in Panama, Anggie Obin switched to jazz thanks to the foundation run by her fellow countryman Danilo Pérez. There she began studies that ended at the well-known Berklee College of Music, where she graduated with a bursary. As a professional, she began her artistic career in New York, where she worked for George Garzone, Gary Burton, Danilo Pérez, Randy Weston, Rossa Passos and Rubén Blades. Definitely a stylish way to kick off a jam.
