The Uruguayan Antonino Restuccia offers an evocative approach for European audiences: a series of his own pieces with elements characteristic of his cultural roots – candombe, the traditional Afro-Uruguayan rhythm. Restuccia has released three solo albums very well received by the specialist critics. One of them was Otro camino, which the well-known American magazine All About Jazz defined as the work of a “talented composer and ingenious improviser”. The same article described Restuccia as a “fresh voice worthy of attention”, and a skilful artist with superlative vision. The great and the good of the South American music scene in Barcelona open the Jamboree jam.
