This quartet, led by the singer and composer Atenea Carter, offers a fusion of jazz with the vocal style of r ‘n’ b and neo-soul. Atenea Carter & Groove Collective began in 2017. Since then, they have performed at events like the 40th Terrassa Jazz Festival Jazz, Candlelight Jazz and the FAQS programme on TV3. The group perform jazz and soul classics such as “Summertime” and “At Last”, together with bossa nova and neo-soul tunes, among other styles. Based on respect for tradition, but also with a spirit of renewal, Atenea Carter cleverly strings together a varied repertoire that includes her own compositions.
