JAMBOREE JAM amb CARLOS LÓPEZ TRIO
Carlos López drums, Xavi Torres piano, Juan Pablo Balcázar double bass.
The Galician drummer and composer Carlos López has been leading his own group since 2006. In that time, he has recorded six albums and toured various European countries. Some of his work has even received the seal of approval from leading critics. Letters from København (2014), was, according to Chema García Martínez (El País), one of the best new Spanish jazz albums. As a sideman, López has worked with the likes of Gilberto Gil, Jerry González, Benny Green, Perico Sambeat, María Toro and Clarence Bekker. Trained at schools like Berklee, the Amsterdam Conservatory, the Taller de Músics and ESMUC, Carlos López shows extraordinary versatility, originality and quality as a performer and composer. He leads a unique approach, with avantgarde jazz as the thread tying together all kinds of influences. At the Jamboree, he will also perform in a trio format with a new line-up completed by great musicians associated with the local scene.
