KALEIDOSCOPE TRIO FEAT. RITA PAYÉS

Miguel Villar “pintxo” sax and vocals, Rita Payés trombone and vocals, Juan Pablo Balcassar double bass and Jesús Mañeru percussion and vocals.

A kaleidoscope is a toy, an optical instrument consisting of a tube with three inclined mirrors and colored glass inside. The glasses are arranged in such a way that, if you move the tube and look inside, you can see different symmetrical geometric figures. In this case, the three mirrors correspond to Miguel ‘Pintxo’ Villar, on sax, Juan Pablo Balcázar, on double bass, and Jesús Mañeru, on percussion. The geometric figures then arrive in the form of melodies based on jazz, Colombian folklore, Cuban dwarves, Argentinian zambas and various pieces of their own authorship. Three mirrors, three personalities. From excellence, from mutual admiration and friendship, they come together after twenty years to share what they love most: making music. To this journey is added the talent and magic of the famous Rita Payés, on voice and trombone, to finish coloring the landscape of such a special meeting.
