JAN STURIALE 4TET - Jamboree Jazz

Presentació disc ‘In The Life’ (DTL, 2022).

Jan Sturiale guitar, Adriano Tortora piano, Garry Jackson bass, Simone Zaniol drums.

With a very personal, incisive by mellow sound, the Italian Jan Sturiale is one of the great contemporary guitarists in Europe and the USA. According to journalist Marta Ramon (Jazz in Europe), he belongs to “an unconventional group of jazzmen who mix the creative language of jazz with the spirit of rock and the heritage of classical music”. Trained in Italy and at Boston’s Berklee College of Music, Sturiale has worked with figures including Hiram Bullock, Jure Pukl, Vardan Ovserpian, Colin Stranahan, Dean Brown and Jank Gwizdala. As a solo artist, he has recorded albums such as Electric Water (2014), Two Roads (2016) and Radmaps (2017), little gems that confirm Sturiale as a superb composer and performer. At the Jamboree he will present a new album, In the Life, recorded with Francesco Bearzatti, among others, and with a unique repertoire ranging from his own songs to covers of the Beatles, Madonna and Charles Mingus.
