HERMAN & BLOM PUPILS - Jamboree Jazz

Benjamin Herman alto sax, Martín Díaz alto sax, Joan Fort guitar, Simon Osuna double bass, David Puime drums.

By a last-minute indisposition, Jasper Blom will be replaced in this concert by alto saxophonist Benjamin Herman, who has been a collaborator with Blom and also a teacher of some of the members of this group. The repertoire will be as planned, performing the music of Jasper Blom, to which we wish a speedy recovery and that we hope to have soon at Jamboree.

The Dutchman Jasper Blom is one of the great saxophonists on the European scene; a musician who has worked with figures of the calibre of Chet Baker, Lee Konitz, George Duke, Nat Adderley, Dave Liebman and Bob Brookmeyer, as well as leading projects with Jesse van Ruller, Nils Woogram, Pablo Held and others. A teacher at the Amsterdam Conservatory, he taught performers such as the others who complete this group – Spanish musicians established on the Dutch scene. At Mas i Mas ‘22, they will present a repertoire of tunes written by different members of this ad hoc quintet. It all represents an unprecedented sample of the top-class jazz musicians from the city of canals – one of the most important in Europe.
