JERRY BERGONZI QUARTET - Jamboree Jazz

Jerry Bergonzi saxo tenor, Renato Chicco piano, Dario Deidda baix, Andrea Michelutti bateria.

An energetic, yet measured, soloist and author of a suggestive speech, Bergonzi discovered the greats of jazz, namely Duke Ellington, Count Basie and Lester Young, when he was only eight years old. During the 70s he moved to New York, where he shared tables with colleagues of the generation of the height of Joe Lovano, Bob Berg, Victor Lewis, Michael Brecker, Steve Grossman and John Scofield. In the 80s he returned to Boston and became a professor of totems in contemporary jazz. During his long career, he has been Dave Brubeck’s sideman and has recorded records with Mulgrew Miller, Kenny Barron and Miles Davis himself. Jerry Bergonzi is undoubtedly a jazz legend, a true master of masters.
