Following the public and critical success of his latest solo album, ‘Gone With The Wind’ (The Changes, 2021), Joan Mar Sauqué is releasing a second album this year, ‘Garden of The Moon (The Changes), under the same spirit and with the same training as in the previous work: Josep Traver (guitar), Giuseppe Campisi (double bass) and himself on trumpet. The author of the notes for the album, Fernando Ortiz de Urbina, a reference in Spain for jazz journalism, also repeats. He says the following: “Sauqué continues to trace at his leisure, avoiding canons, with no other course than that marked by intuition and the search for melodic juice, for a song, and for the harmonic substance that Traver and Campisi turn into networks on which fall and take off again.”
