In this new project, the pianist Joan Monné – remember, one of the great names of national jazz – offers us a selection of old compositions recorded in previous projects, such as his own trio, the Nou Nonet or the quartet with Carme Canela. On this occasion, he performs them together with a quartet without drums. He is accompanied by Rai Ferrer, on double bass, with whom he has worked for years in different groups, Santi de la Rubia, who was part of his nonet, and Òscar Latorre, on trumpet, with whom he collaborates for the first time. It is a formation where the experience of Monné and Ferrer comes together with the youth of Latorre and De la Rubia; an ensemble at the service of music with outstanding lyricism and perhaps ancient work, but that always seeks beauty.
