Juan Saiz presents comes to the Jamboree to present his latest album, ‘Pindio II’ (Leo, 2022), in trio format. The album, recorded as a quartet with Marco Mezquida, Manel Fortià and Genís Bagés, has won praise from media like the New York City Jazz Record and the newspaper El País. ‘Pindio II’ presents a series of Saiz’ own compositions in tune with European jazz and avant-garde trends. The repertoire is energetic and informal, and progresses through constantly transforming soundscapes, so the group’s members have complete freedom to make each concert a unique experience. Saxophonist, flautist and composer, Juan Saiz (Santander, 1986) is a born promoter of innovative projects in the field of avant-garde jazz. In his career, he has released six albums as a band leader or co-leader, with titles such as ‘The Sound of Caves’ (2016), recorded solo inside various caves, ‘Dr Bobô’ (Nuva/Karonte, 2019) or ‘Frágil Gigante’ (Leo, 2020), with Baldo Martínez and Lucía Martínez.
