Born in Barcelona in 1998, Mar Vilaseca is currently a student on the vocal jazz programme at the ESMUC. Belonging to a family linked to the artistic world – her father is the pianist Jaume Vilaseca – has helped her to grow musically, to create her own repertoire and to write her own music. In her compositions, influenced above all by jazz, we also find links to gospel and soul. The repertoire of this singer, who we have been able to hear in Jaume Vilaseca’s “Jazznesis” series, shows a deep mastery of the most evocative melodies and harmonies. As well as performing her own music, Vilaseca includes in her repertoire a series of standards she has arranged herself, reflecting her personality. At the Jamboree, she will offer the songs from her debut album, Find the Way, a reliable sample of the talent of the latest jazz musicians to emerge.
