The Marina Garrido Sextet project presents a repertoire of original compositions and arrangements of jazz standards, exploring the soundscapes of contemporary and avant-garde jazz. Starting from traditional roots, the ensemble delves into experimental and unconventional resources of modern jazz, using the voice not only as a storytelling medium but also as another instrument through improvisation and the play of sonic textures.
The sextet, led by Marina Garrido on vocals, features Haizea Martiartu on saxophone, Guillem Payaró on flute, Antoni Casellas on piano, Pau Lligadas on double bass, and Pau Gurpegui on drums. Together, they offer a musical proposal that reflects on the complexities of modern life, addressing contemporary themes such as isolation and the lack of communication in a hyperconnected world.
