In 1991, he moved to New York to study with pianist Sal Mosca, a Tristano specialist. Established in the city, he played and recorded with Kurt Rosenwinkel, Mark Turner, Jorge Rossy, among others, and developed a growing reputation as a vocal accompanist.
In 1996, he joined the band of legendary singer Jimmy Scott, with whom he toured the USA, Europe, and Japan and recorded four albums. In 2001, he became the accompanist and arranger for one of today’s most celebrated vocalists, Jane Monheit. With the latter, he has toured worldwide, recorded several CDs and DVDs, and made numerous television appearances, including on the famous shows of David Letterman and Conan O’Brien.
