Over the past 20 years, the Mikkel Ploug Trio has toured in more than 25 countries, showcasing the innovative guitar work of Mikkel Ploug. Known for his collaborations with American saxophone legend Mark Turner and Danish Grawemeyer Award-winning composer Bent Sørensen, Mikkel has become a key figure in modern European jazz guitar. His work has earned critical acclaim from renowned publications like DownBeat Magazine and Rolling Stone Magazine. With over 17 albums released on prestigious labels across the USA and Denmark, his solo album Balcony Lullabies was named “Best Album of the Year” by Morningstar in the UK in 2020. Joining Mikkel in the trio are Martin Andersen, one of Europe’s most in-demand drummers, and Jeppe Skovbakke, a prominent figure in Denmark’s rich tradition of double bass excellence.
