Prepared piano, electronic music, and audiovisual art come together in the hands of composer and pianist Juan J. Ochoa and producer and DJ David MiRET. Influenced by the Berlin music scene and blending styles like experimental minimalism, melodic techno, and downtempo, this new duo—electronic music producer MiRET and experimental pianist and composer Juan J. Ochoa—expands the sonic universe with a touch of Mediterranean roots. Following in the footsteps of iconic duos like Kiasmos, Grandbrothers, and the more recent Two Lanes, MiRET&OCHOA unite to create a refined, emotional, and dynamic sound. The prepared piano explores new sonic possibilities through innovative techniques, in dialogue with synthesizers, drum machines, and electronic textures.
Ahead of the release of their first EP, set for next autumn, they are showcasing their debut collaboration, an experience that values direct emotional connection with the audience, enhanced by an immersive staging by visual artist INZIST. It’s an evocative, expansive, and complex yet accessible proposal that carves out its space within the Mediterranean electronic scene, inviting an audience eager for fresh and moving experiences.
