Moreira, one of the youngest and most charismatic voices in the national jazz scene, presents ‘De mi pena nacen flores’, the title of her new and striking LP, a personal work that draws from cool jazz, American swing with manouche touches, bossa nova, and an unmistakable Blue Note spirit, all wrapped in a modern sound with the timeless feel of a classic. The lyrics are free of embellishments, direct, like an arrow to the bullseye, and deeply moving, knowing that she only writes from what she has lived firsthand. In this concert, Moreira offers a manouche-inspired reinterpretation of the album’s repertoire, along with some classic covers.
