Forward is the second album by saxophonist and composer Pablo Martín, once again featuring the collaboration of bassist Héctor Tejedo and drummer Kike Pérez.
On Forward (UnderPool, 2023), this trio with a remarkable trajectory showcases a distinctive language characterized by its energy and subtlety, with a special emphasis on the interplay that has allowed these three musicians to explore the various forms of expressiveness offered by this type of formation.
Pablo Martín has used his trio as a creative laboratory, pouring into it the nine original compositions that make up Forward. This exercise has resulted in the enjoyment of their mature and consolidated language, and in a communication among these three instrumentalists that goes beyond music.
The ensemble, which has performed in music venues and festivals nationally and internationally, was the winner of the 1st edition of the Talent Award promoted by AC/E and the Taller de Músics, and was a finalist in the Fara Jazz Live Award in Italy. Recently, the album was nominated for the Enderrock Awards and Min Awards as the Best Jazz Album of 2023.
