Promoted and led by Ivan Kovacevic, one of the great names on the Barcelona jazz and blues scene, the Barcelona Big Blues Band has become one of the most powerful and most in-demand line-ups on this country’s swing, jazz and r ‘n’ b circuit. Their energetic, wild, but at the same time sophisticated sound makes them a unique, irresistible group. It could be said that they follow the tradition of the great bands that backed T-Bone Walker or Johnny Otis, but they go beyond this, regularly incorporating top-class soloists, such as the baritone sax player Pere Miró, the special guest for this session.
