RAMONA HORVATH & NICOLAS RAGEAU - Jamboree Jazz

Ramona Hovarth piano and Nicolas Rageau doublebass.

Based on the suite ‘Impressions d’enfance’, by George Enescu, the pianist Ramona Horvath and double bassist Nicolas Rageau demonstrate the influences of classical music on jazz and, at the same time, the impact of jazz on classical composition. ‘Impressions de voyage en jazz’, the title of this concert, reviews a set of pieces by Debussy, Ravel, Fauré and Enescu, as well as Duke Ellington and Billy Strayhorn. According to Jazz Hot magazine, Ramona Horvath is “one of the most original pianists in Parisian jazz”. For his part, Parisian double bassist Nicolas Rageau has lived in New York and worked with Benny Golson, Johnny Griffin, Alain Jean-Marie together with other well-known figures. Horvath and Rageau have recorded three albums together, and the French critics have described them as being in “perfect osmosis”.
