REPTILIAN MAMBO

El Pricto synthesizers, composition and direction, Ilona Schneider voice, Eduardo Pons tenor saxophone, Luís Erades alto saxophone, Alfonso Muñóz bariton saxophone, Diego Caicedo electric guitar, Vasco Trilla drums, Avelino Saavedra percussion.

A deranged mix of genres as diverse as mambo, free jazz, hardcore, experimental electronica, Latin jazz, progressive and exotic metal, define in an approximate way this group from Barcelona that calls its style as “Mambocore”- In its current incarnation it has eight of the most active local improvisers, among which stand out, for its great international projection, the drummer Vasco Trilla, the saxophonist Tom Chant, and the multi-instrumentalist, composer and creator of the project, Andrés Rojas “El Pricto”, who, for this occasion, has created a new reptilian repertoire inspired and reimagining the album ‘Mambo’ by Yma Sumac,  incorporating the unusual voice of Ilona Schneider.
