Roger Santacana is a versatile musician, graduated in piano-jazz from ESMUC in 2018. As an instrumentalist, he has participated in all kinds of projects: from jazz to classical, through Latin American and contemporary music. Solo, he leads his own group, with which he has thoroughly worked the style of Melhdau, Jarrett, Bley, Evans and other great names of the piano-trio. The Roger Santacana Trio combines the influence of those jazz masters with the inherent musicality of its members. In this sense, the contribution of ideas and own compositions play a prominent role in the aesthetics of the group. Finally, the great connection and understanding between these three young musicians should also be highlighted, fueled fundamentally by friendship, improvisation and cooperative leadership.
