Ronald Baker, one of the great trumpet players from the most recent generations of American musicians dispersed around the world, is returning to the basement club in Plaça Reial. Born in Baltimore in 1968, Baker lives in Paris. From his base on the Old Continent, he has earned his place as worthy successor to the best performers, not only on his chosen brass instrument, but also in vocal jazz. He has released six solo albums and his trumpet playing has been compared to Chet Baker, Roy Eldridge and Miles Davis. As a singer, his voice recalls the velvety, rhythmic style of Al Jarreau and George Benson. As well as his solo career, he has worked with artists including Big Joe Turner, Ricky Ford, Jesse Davis and Ignasi Terraza. This time, he will take the stage as leader of a quartet of the best musicians from our jazz scene.
