Ronald Baker was born in Baltimore, Maryland, on November 21, 1968. After studying trumpet at the Baltimore School for the Arts, he pursued a bachelor’s degree in music education at the Oberlin Conservatory of Music. There, he studied with renowned artists such as Donald Byrd, Kenny Davis, Wendell Logan, JJ Johnson, Jon Faddis, George Cables, and many others. Arriving in France in 1992, it didn’t take long for him to establish himself as a high-quality trumpet player and a skilled singer. Ronald has performed at most major jazz festivals in France and has shared the stage with great artists such as Lou Donaldson, Curtis Fuller, Red Halloway, Jesse Davis, and Antonio Hart. Currently, he is touring with the Michele Hendricks Septet, Liz McComb Brassland, and his own quintet, which has been active for over 22 years. Ronald has also been teaching at a private jazz school for the past 13 years.
Tony Match is a French drummer, MD, and music producer. For over 25 years, he has worked with top-tier jazz musicians worldwide as a producer, musician, and musical director. From Fred Wesley, Pee Wee Ellis, Ernie Watts, Scott Hamilton, and Paul Jackson (The Headhunter) to Richard Galliano and Rick Margitza, Tony has contributed to numerous projects featuring jazz, soul, and funk legends such as Martha High and Denise King. He has performed with Omar, Vanessa Haynes (Incognito), Randy Brecker, Lionel Loueke, Flavio Boltro, Ulf Wakenius, and collaborated with Flora Purim and Mozez (Zero7), among others. Tony Match has composed, produced, and mixed more than 200 tracks for major and independent labels, including albums for Deutsche Grammophon and Universal.
