Simon Moullier vibraphone, Luca Alemanno double bass, Karl Henrick Ousbäck drums.
Quincy Jones has described Moullier as “the best vibraphonist I’ve ever heard” and Herbie Hancock acknowledges that “I’ve never heard vibraphone playing like that before.” Born in Paris in 1994, Simon Moullier first picked up a pair of mallets when he was in secondary school. He immediately made his mark as an original, virtuoso instrumentalist. Trained in classical percussion, he completed his studies in the USA, at the Berklee College of Music and the Thelonious Monk Institute, playing live with figures like Herbie Hancock, Wayne Shorter, John Patitucci, Miguel Zenón and Jimmy Heath and appearing on recordings by Mark Turner and Kendrick Scott, among others. At the Mas i Mas Festival he will present his new album, Countdown, released on the prestigious label Fresh Sound New Talent.
