Smack Dab, the Catalan hardbop quintet, continues at the foot of the canyon and presents a new album with unpublished and original music; fast-paced themes in contrast to more intimate pieces, a lot of tempera and, above all, a lot of thrall. Those of you who have the privilege of descending the stairs of the Jamboree will witness an unforgettable night. Curled up in the chair, you can only say one word: “Supertralla!” In its eight years of history, Smack Dab has performed all over Catalonia, Spain and New York. Its members have trained at the most prestigious jazz schools—Juilliard, Manhattan and Temple University—, have had an international career and have recorded five albums: ‘Oriol Vallès and Joan Casares present SMACK DAB’, ‘Smack 7 Dab’, ‘Live At Jamboree’, ‘555’ and ‘Supertralla’, with collaborations from the likes of Jesse Davis, Perico Sambeat and Toni Belenguer.
