Solomon Hicks guitar, vocals · Kirk Yano bass · Chuchi Crespo drums
Considered a guitar prodigy, New Yorker Solomon Hicks began his career at a young age, immersing himself in the Harlem music scene surrounded by accomplished musicians. “My mentors taught me not to be the fastest guitarist,” he recalls. “I wanted to know all the riffs and learn as much as possible to play any style with anyone.”
In 2021, Hicks won the Blues Music Award for Best Emerging Artist with his album Harlem (Provogue Records, 2020), produced by Grammy-winning Kirk Yano, who has worked with legends like Miles Davis, Public Enemy, and Mariah Carey. Throughout his meteoric rise, Hicks has earned numerous accolades, topped charts, and shared stages with icons such as Buddy Guy, Joe Bonamassa, Samantha Fish, Tony Bennett, Jeff Beck, Ringo Starr, Jimmie Vaughan, Mavis Staples, and Robert Cray. Undoubtedly, Solomon Hicks is a rising star in the blues world.
