Elisabet Raspall (piano) and Aldo Caviglia (drums) have been working together at the Higher Music School of Catalonia (ESMUC) for more than 15 years in the Department of Jazz and Modern Music accompaniment trio. With Caviglia, and with the subsequent incorporation of Jordi Mestres (double bass) and Fernando Brox (flute), Raspall formed a group with which she began a phase of experimentation and evolution. The new Elisabet Raspall Quartet worked on a repertoire based on the pianist’s compositions and original arrangements of standards, pieces of jazz, and modern music with a clear roots music influence, avantgarde trends and the spirit of Brazilian music. The result of all this is I Love Jazz (Raspall Records), the thirteenth album by the pianist from Vilanova which, like other works in her brilliant and prolific career, she will present at the Jamboree.
