With albums like Hociology (Fresh Sound New Talent, 2019), Luismi Segurado, from Salamanca, established himself as one of the great talents on the new piano jazz scene in this country. While on previous projects Segurado worked with a trio line-up, now he returns to the stage with a quintet to offer a brand-new repertoire inspired by the hard bop school – and more specifically by the seminal work of Art Blakey and the Jazz Messengers, Horace Silver and even Thelonious Monk. Top-class hard bop at the hands of a fantastic pianist.
