SUN-MI HONG QUINTET - Jamboree Jazz

Sun-Mi Hong is considered to be one of the most interesting drummers on the European scene. Since she released her first solo album in 2017, she has received constant praise for her all-enveloping approach. With one foot in tradition and the other in the latest trends, Sun-Mi Hong has created her own style, reinforced on her second album, A Self-Strewn Portrait, which she will present at the Jamboree. The performer, of Korean origin, creates wonderfully exciting, contemporary musical landscapes which are, to some extent, also conceptual. “It’s a journey deep down, with sparks of light between dense layers of sound,” according to Paul Pace, programmer at the legendary Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club in London.
