THE MONK was born as a power trio in La Floresta, BCN, in 2014, with instrumental music such as common thread. Originally, the band consisted of drums, bass and keyboards, with music that brought together various styles based on funk, with rock and Latin touches.
Over the years, different musicians have joined the project, with artistic contributions even more eclectic; from pop, through jazz and hip-hop. Currently, THE MONK has with 8 musicians, distributing cod with their own repertoire that combines multiple styles. Flat and predictable music bores us, we want to excite, stimulate and surprise our public. We love live shows, and we try to generate an unforgettable time for those who they want to share with us a moment of madness.
With a repertoire of our own songs and the odd nod to songs we like, we have some truly varied influences, derived from the very heterogeneity of the individuals who we are in this paranoia We play a lot of bands like Vulfpeck, The Meters, Hiatus K., Mars, Jackson and others sick of rhythm, daring harmonies and forceful sound.
In short, THE MONK is a daring, fun and revolutionary band that is destined to leave his mark on the history of music.
