The Catalan pianist Tomàs Fosch comes to the Jamboree to present Solid Society, an album recorded live at the underground club in the Plaça Reial. He is accompanied by Gianni Gagliardi (tenor sax), Pau Sala (double base) and Adrià Claramunt (drums). Solid Society is his third solo CD following his debut with Lluç Jazz (Quadrant, 2013) and the release of MASO (Temps Record, 2016), an album drawing on his experience in the US, where he lived for some time. Solid Society includes his own pieces and arrangements of standards, with touches of hard bop. The album is an evocation of his experience in Barcelona, a period of composition and introspection but also interaction with other musicians to create firm, solid, timeless music, far from the “liquid society”. Tomàs Fosch is an original musician with a discourse recalling the greats of the most modern piano jazz.
