Toni Saigi is one of the great pianists on the Catalan jazz scene. In the spring of 2017, he founded a quartet “given over to jazz and for jazz”, made up of characters from different generations on our jazz scene. The goal is to perform his own music with a series of compositions drawing directly on the jazz of the 1950s and ‘60s, but also with influences from contemporary composers and his fellow musicians from the Barcelona scene. The result of this determination can be seen in the albums ‘La prinsire de la sal’ (Underpool, 2018) and ‘Plisisiplis’ (Fresh Sound New Talent, 2021). At the Jamboree, he will present his third album with this line-up: ‘Wara’ (Underpool, 2023).
