Tonina doublebass vocals · Ivy Alexander guitar · Dalila Murano drums
Born in San Diego, raised in Saint Louis, and the daughter of a Ugandan father and a Sicilian mother, American bassist, composer, and singer Tonina embodies multiculturalism. Her versatile artistry is shaped by a rich blend of musical influences. Her sense of rhythm and melody, combined with her extraordinary vocal delivery, captivates audiences from the first notes. As a singer, she boasts a unique and personal style, often evoking the emotional depth of Billie Holiday, albeit in a different tone.
As a bassist, Tonina exhibits all the qualities of a great instrumentalist destined for success. A graduate of the prestigious Berklee College of Music, she has collaborated on jazz, classical, pop, and R&B projects, performing at esteemed venues and festivals. Her solo discography includes albums and EPs such as St. Lost (2019), Senti (2022), and Aurelia (2024). Called to become one of the leading names in contemporary music, acclaimed producer Javier Limón once shared with Fernando Díaz de Quijano (El Español): “The moment she opened her mouth, I felt the same as when I first heard Buika or El Cigala.”
