The Frenchman Tony Tixier is a pianist and composer who has worked with artists of the calibre of Wallace Roney, Christian Scott, Minu Cinelu, Seamus Blake, Gregory Porter, Logan Richardson, Raynald Colom and many, many more. He has played venues such as the Apollo Theatre, Radio Music City Hall and the Blue Note in New York, the Jazz à Vienne festival in France and Ronnie Scott’s Club in London. In one of these important settings, Jazz en Tête (Clermont-Ferrand), he opened a special concert dedicated to Herbie Hancock together with his twin brother, the violinist Scott Tixier. The pair have also both worked for Janet Cardiff. We could go on talking about the merits of a musician with a truly impressive CV – a virtuoso with good taste who has become one of the great jazz names of the 21st century.
