‘Flamenco jazz from the hands of the master’

Javier Martínez and Ismael de Barcelona pay tribute to the ultimate legendary tocaor; the flamenco artist who boldly dared to mix his style of playing with jazz; the guitarist who created his own school. Martínez and Barcelona divide their show into three parts. First, they play pieces by Niño Ricardo, De Lucía’s teacher. In the second part, they will take an in-depth look at the refreshing work of the Algesires guitarist and his move towards jazz through his most iconic compositions. Finally, Martínez and Barcelona end the session with tunes by different composers inspired by Paco de Lucía, offering just a few examples of the mark he left, and still leaves, on various generations of musicians from around the world. “Tribute to Paco de Lucía” champions the universal figure of one of the greatest flamenco artists – and jazz musicians – of all time.
