As part of our programme devoted to young talent from the higher music schools of Barcelona, today we welcome Trio Nilo, formed by star pupils from the Escola Superior del Taller de Musics (ESEM). Pipó, Pujol and Pérez present their first album as a group, Planeta desierto, recorded just over a year ago now. Although its language is based on the jazz tradition, Trio Nilo seek their own identity – an original style based on a combination of their own pieces, arrangements of standards and other compositions forming part of their creative world.
