The Roman pianist Pietro Lussu, nephew of the writer and politician from Armungia, Emilio Lussu, has embarked on an artistic project that combines his uncle’s immortal literary work with his own musical exploration. Emilio Lussu, best known for his book “Un anno sull’Altipiano”, had never been the subject of a musical interpretation by Pietro until the opportunity arose through the “Insulae Lab” production.

In this project, Lussu is joined by the talented actor Felice Montervino, who takes on the challenging task of reinterpreting parts of Emilio’s literary work to offer a powerful and moving musical reading. Titled “Un anno sull’altipiano. In guerra qualche volta abbiamo anche cantato”, the work interweaves words and music into a journey that explores personal memories of a year spent on the front during World War I.

This project, straddling literature and civic and political passion, offers a poetic vision of the absurdities of war and underscores the urgent need to support peace in every circumstance.
