Victor Carrascosa and Eliott Knuets Group was born in the city of Basel (Switzerland) in 2023, formed by two of the most promising young musicians on the European jazz scene. Eliott Knuets, a guitarist who, at just 20 years old, already possesses a unique voice and an absolutely new and innovative language, and Víctor Carrascosa, a 21-year-old trumpeter from Barcelona, warm, elegant, and modern, will join forces with the experienced David Xirgu on drums, Joan Codina on double bass, and Xavi Torres on piano.

The music they will present at this concert stems from the musical connection the two young artists experienced at the Jazz Campus in Basel during 2023 and 2024. Their music is rooted in the tradition of jazz, as both have delved deeply into the works of the genre’s great pioneers (Charlie Parker, Miles Davis, John Coltrane) from a very young age. However, beyond this look at the past, which has provided them with a profound musical understanding, the sound they tirelessly seek and pursue in their compositions incorporates the colors and textures of the present, of contemporary jazz.
