A pesar de estar muy lejos del Delta del Misisipi, Cataluña ha sido tradicionalmente una tierra muy fértil para cultivar el blues y sus músicas afines. Así, a lo largo de los años, hemos disfrutado de grupos como Big Mama, Blues Messengers, A Contra blues, o la Barcelona Big Blues Band, entre una larguísima lista. Entre los artistas vinculados a esta música apasionante, uno de los nombres más emblemáticos es el de Víctor Puertas, armonista, cantante, pianista y organista que, con un espíritu inquieto y un distintivo virtuosismo técnico, sobre todo a la armónica, se ha ganado un lugar preeminente, habiendo colaborado con numerosas formaciones: The Suitcase Brothers, Cool Grinders, Koko-Jean & The Tonics o la que trae esta noche al escenario del Jamboree, The Mellow Tones, con la cual presenta su segundo disco. Con escuderos de lujo como Oscar Rabadán, Reginald Vilardell, Balta Bordoy y Oriol Fontanals, nos demostrará, una vez más, su clase y elegancia al servicio del blues más primigenio.

It may be a long way from the Mississippi Delta, but Catalonia has traditionally been very fertile territory for the blues and its musical relatives. So, over the years, we have enjoyed groups like Big Mama, Blues Messengers, A Contra Blues, and the Barcelona Big Blues Band, along with a very long list of others. Among the artists linked to this thrilling music, one of the most iconic names is that of Víctor Puertas. With his restless spirit and distinctive technical virtuosity, this excellent harmonica player, who is also a singer, pianist and organist, has carved out a leading position on the scene, working with many groups. These include the Suitcase Brothers, Cool Grinders, Koko-Jean & The Tonics and the one he brings tonight to the Jamboree stage, the Mellow Tones, presenting their second album. With top-class sidemen Oscar Rabadán, Reginald Vilardell, Balta Bordoy and Oriol Fontanals he will once more show us his class and elegance at the service of the rawest blues.
