The Franco-Uruguayan double bassist Vladimir Torres presents a unique body of work, presided over by the set of geographical and cultural influences that he treasures, and by a long and prolific career of twenty-five years on the French scene. As a performer, Torres stands out for his fluid and expressive style; as a creator, for the ability to forge innovative and original melodies, harmonies and arrangements. His musical universe represents a meeting between jazz, pop, Latin music, the Middle East and others. A good example is found in his third solo album, ‘Brujos’ (L’Horizon Violet, 2023), “a little gem,” according to the French weekly Télérama.
